U.S. Honor Flag Raised in Rocklin to Honor Heroes
The U.S. National Honor Flag was raised at the Rocklin Police Station on Monday, May 1, to honor Rocklin police officers, firefighters, first responders and military personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty and those who currently serve our communities and nation.
Rocklin City Manager Rick Horst, The Rocklin Police Department and the Rocklin Fire Department participated in the ceremony with The Honor Network President and Co-Founder Chris Heisler.
Rocklin City Council Declares Support for Big Day of Giving
The Rocklin City Council encourages all Rocklin citizens to support of the Big Day of Giving by donating to a local non-profit close to their heart on Thursday May 4, 2017.
Close to 600 nonprofits throughout the region will participate in the BIG Day of Giving, 100 of which are located in Placer County and serve City of Rocklin residents.
Three leaders of hardworking non-profits making an impact and providing a sense of pride in the community were in attendance at the April 25 Council meeting, where the Council passed a resolution of support.
Upgraded Streetlights Installed in Rocklin
In partnership with Pacific Gas & Electric, the city of Rocklin has opted into a program to improve public lighting. PG&E has converted streetlights across the city from older, high-pressure sodium vapor lightbulbs to state-of-the-art LED lamps.
Rocklin City Council Approves Adventure Park Concept
The Rocklin City Council unanimously approved an agreement Tuesday night that could lead to the construction of an adventure park in the heart of Old Town Rocklin at the City’s Quarry Park.
Rocklin Adventures, which the concept is currently being called, would utilize the historic Big Gun Quarry and surrounding property to create an adventure park featuring zip lining, rock climbing, ropes courses and other outdoor activities.
Jill Gayaldo Appointed to Rocklin City Council
The Rocklin City Council has appointed Jill Gayaldo to fill a vacant seat on City Council with a term running through December 2018.
During a special meeting on January 5, the City Council interviewed 13 candidates who applied to fill the open seat. The interview process, including Council discussion and deliberation, was open to the public.

Broadway is also seeking a four-year Rocklin City Council term
during the November election. If elected, he would resign
the current two-year appointment (the remainder of Ruslin’s
term), and accept the full four-year elected term.
