At the October 28 meeting, the Rocklin City Council  took several actions to support recreation, housing, and community engagement, among other items.

Community Recognition Commission Appointment

The City Council appointed Bonnie Neumann to serve on the Community Recognition Commission.

Sunset Whitney Recreation Area Pickleball Courts

Council approved the plans and specifications for the upcoming Sunset Whitney Recreation Area (SWRA) Pickleball Courts Project, authorizing staff to call for construction bids. The facility will feature 16 lighted pickleball courts, accessible pathways, and gathering areas designed to meet ADA standards.

The project represents the next step in implementing the SWRA Master Plan adopted in 2023.

Inclusionary Housing Ordinance

Following a public hearing, the Council approved a Notice of Exemption under CEQA and introduced a regular ordinance to incorporate inclusionary housing requirements into the Rocklin Municipal Code. The proposed ordinance will help ensure new housing developments include affordable units for a range of income levels. The urgency ordinance did not pass, but the regular ordinance will return for a second reading and final adoption in December.

The regular City Council meeting of November 11, 2025 has been cancelled due to City offices being closed in observance of Veterans Day.

The next City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
