June 23, 2026 Rocklin City Council Recap
The Rocklin City Council met on June 23 and took action on several items related to community service, public infrastructure, and public safety. Highlights from the meeting are below.
Community Members Appointed to Boards, Commissions, and Committees
The City Council appointed several residents to serve on City boards, commissions, and committees. These volunteers provide valuable input and recommendations that help guide City programs, services, and policies.
The following appointments were made:
- Joseph Ciccolo – Investment Advisory Committee
- Matilda F. Urieff – Youth Commissioner Parks & Recreation Commission
- Neil Bullock and Nancy Hartwell – Parks and Recreation Commission
- Eric Feller, John Hobbs, and Theresa Parsley – Board of Appeals
Following their appointments, the new members were sworn in and officially began their service to the community.
July Recognized as Parks & Recreation Month
The Council issued a proclamation recognizing July 2026 as Parks & Recreation Month in the City of Rocklin.
The annual observance celebrates the important role parks, recreation programs, trails, open spaces, and community events play in enhancing quality of life for residents of all ages. The proclamation also recognized the contributions of the Parks and Recreation Commission, City staff, volunteers, and community partners who help maintain and enhance Rocklin’s parks and recreation system.
Solid Waste Rate Adjustment Approved
The Council approved a solid waste rate adjustment following a public hearing.
The rate increase reflects rising operational costs associated with providing solid waste, recycling, and organics collection services. The adjustment will help ensure continued service reliability and compliance with state mandates related to waste diversion and environmental sustainability.
Residents will see the updated rates reflected in future utility billing cycles.
Delinquent Weed Abatement Charges Confirmed
The Council conducted a public hearing regarding delinquent weed abatement charges and approved the placement of unpaid charges on the Placer County property tax roll.
Each year, the City undertakes weed abatement efforts when property owners fail to address hazardous vegetation after receiving notice. Recovering these costs helps reduce fire hazards and maintain community safety while ensuring taxpayers are not responsible for expenses incurred on behalf of non-compliant properties.

The Rocklin City Council will be on its annual July recess and is not scheduled to hold regular meetings during the month of July.
