CrossFit Echelon is a coaching company that helps busy people get the most out of the time they have to invest in their health and fitness. Since March 2011, the gym has practiced the CrossFit methodology by providing professional, collegiate-level coaching in a meaningful and challenging environment. The program is designed for universal scalability, making it doable for those facing an injury, people new to working out, or experienced lifters. In addition to the standard class hours, there are also openings for personal training, movement rehabilitation, and nutrition counseling to incorporate all aspects of health.

Thrive Nutrition and Fit Club sells tasty and healthy versions of treats you know and love, like smoothies, waffles, donuts, and energy drinks—and offers complimentary fitness classes to the community. For the last 20 years in Rocklin, trainers have offered their services to teach classes for free. Thrive Fit Club then offers those cardio drumming, boot camp, cardio boxing, and warrior abs classes as an outreach to help the community get healthy. During the stay at home order, the shop was able to safely continue providing people with healthy treats in store and moved its fitness classes to online streaming platforms. It even saw more participants online working out from home!

This blowout salon offers hair styling—with no cuts or colors—and makeup services. When Blo opened in September 2019, it was looking forward to its peak season in spring, where it did hair and makeup for prom, homecoming, senior balls, weddings, and other special events. The coronavirus prevented it from doing so, as Blo closed its doors March 20 and only just reopened on June 1. Blo lost many of its members due to the economic uncertainty caused by the virus, and only half of its stylists have returned. Blo has been busy since the doors reopened with plenty of specials and discounts for those who want to support the business.

The Lamb and the Wolf is Rocklin’s newest Mediterranean place serving up gyros, pizza, and a number of delicious vegetarian dishes. The restaurant opened last November from a successful food truck business serving much of Northern California. In the last few months, the restaurant has added and modified specials to include family platters, discounted senior dinner items, and essential non-perishable groceries (like water, paper towels, and toilet paper). It also sells pizza kits with floured pizza dough, sauce, and cheese for families to bake their own pizza creations at home. Business was slow at the beginning of the shutdown, but people are adapting and are ordering out more frequently again.

CycleLife is Rocklin’s indoor cycling studio, where 45-minute rhythm-based spin classes make working out feel like a dance party. CycleLife has a location in Sacramento, and recently opened their Rocklin location this January. The coronavirus put a pause on the spin studio’s dance party when they were forced to close on March 16. CycleLife paused classes and memberships to help slow the spread but still had bike leases, bills, and loans to pay. Gift memberships and gift cards helped some, but now that the doors are open, CycleLife is ready to get you back to working out!
