The Good Life
"We're Open" Business Features

Post

The Good Life offers 24-hour cage-free dog daycare and overnight boarding, in addition to grooming services. The Good Life, housed in Rocklin for nearly three years, closed in early April due to the pandemic and reopened May 16. In that time, they received a steady supply of emails from clients to keep in touch and check in. Since reopening, The Good Life’s clients are back, and new clients interested in daycare and overnight care are calling daily. The business understands that every dog is special and unique, and providing individualized care is its main mission. There is always someone on staff to watch the dogs overnight.

“Our whole staff is excited to be back open and doing all we can to keep the community safe. Being a part of the lives of our clients is at the core of who we are. We missed both our human and dog clients very much,” co-owners Beth and Jennie Reiken said. The daycare has curbside pick-up and drop-off and asks that harnesses and clothing be removed from the dog in advance. All staff wear a mask and gloves. Hand sanitizing stations are installed throughout the facility, and full facility cleanings continue to happen each night and throughout the day.

Current business hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (early/late drop-off and pick-up if needed)
Future expectations: Many clients working from home will continue to use daycare because socializing, spending time outside of the house, and making new friends are key to dogs staying healthy and active.
