Economic Development implements, coordinates and monitors policies and programs to improve the City’s business climate.

This office works to keep Rocklin prosperous by acting on two overarching approaches to economic vitalization: strengthening what the City already has and pursuing what the City needs to achieve a strong, diversified local economy.

The City Manager’s Office serves as the City’s Business Ombudsman, providing a liaison between the City and the business community. We offer no-cost consultation for incentive identification, site selection, market analysis, and regulatory and permitting compliance assistance.

Public Safety

  • Rocklin’s Insurance Protection Class Code (ISO Rating) is 2, putting the Rocklin Fire Department in the top 5% of the nation.
  • The Rocklin Police Department is one of only 10 municipal law enforcement agencies in California accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

Education

  • The Rocklin Unified School District (RSUD) was ranked as the third best school district in the Sacramento area in 2022 and 2023 by niche.com 
  • Sierra College serves more than 25,000 students each year, offering 126 degrees, transfer programs, and certificates.
