2025 Community Survey Results

We’re excited to share the results of the 2025 National Community Survey (NCS), conducted in partnership with Polco, a national leader in civic engagement and public opinion research. Every two years, Rocklin participates in this comprehensive survey to better understand the priorities, satisfaction, and experiences of our residents. Your feedback plays a vital role in shaping the future of our city.

Thank you to everyone who participated! This year’s results highlight many of the things we love most about Rocklin—and also point to opportunities for growth and improvement.

High Ratings Across the Board

Nine out of ten residents rated Rocklin as an excellent or good place to live and raise a family—well above the national benchmark. Residents gave especially high marks in areas like:

  • Safety
  • Parks and Recreation
  • The Natural Environment
  • Local Economy

Over 80% of respondents rated these services as “good” or “excellent,” and 93% identified safety as “essential” or “very important.”

Community Priorities

Other top priorities included:

  • Utilities (92%)
  • Economy (88%)
  • Parks and Recreation (85%)

These insights help us ensure city services are aligned with what matters most to you.

Opportunities for Improvement

While many areas are thriving, the survey also revealed a few key challenges. Compared to 2023, residents expressed increased concerns about:

  • Community Design
  • Health and Wellness
  • Inclusivity and Engagement

These shifts point to broader conversations about growth, housing affordability, and building a welcoming, inclusive Rocklin for all.

2023 Community Survey Results

The annual Community Survey, in collaboration with Polco, gives Rocklin residents the opportunity to provide feedback about City programs and services. According to the National Community Survey conducted in December 2022 and January 2023, Rocklin residents value their quality of life, feel a high level of safety within their community, and love our parks and recreation offerings.

The survey provides data for what we already know, Rocklin is a great place to live! All items relating to the quality of life in Rocklin received universally high marks, and almost all were higher than the national
average. Virtually all residents positively rated Rocklin as a place to live, a score higher than what has been observed in comparison communities across the nation. About 9 in 10 survey participants positively evaluated the overall quality of life and would recommend living in Rocklin to someone who asks; both of these evaluations were higher than the national average. Some noteworthy excerpts from the 76 page report are below.
