In Rocklin, trash is sorted at the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and everything that can be recycled is sorted and processed automatically without you having to sort anything. That’s why we only have one bin for trash and recycling!

Put Recyclables in Your Trash OR Bring Recyclables to the Western Placer Waste Management Authority (WPWMA). WPWMA is a regional agency that provides recycling and waste disposal services for Lincoln, Rocklin, Roseville and Placer County. WPWMA operates a Material Recovery Facility (MRF), pronounced ‘murf’, located at the landfill to help Placer County meet the state’s waste reduction goals. 

Convenient Drop-Off Locations

Recycling centers are conveniently located throughout the region where you can recycle CRV cans, bottles, glass, PETE plastic, cardboard and newspapers. View a list of these and other drop-off sites at the national website, or call 1-800-RECYCLE.

Newspaper Recycling

Cardboard Recycling

Recology (the provider of trash pick-up in the city) offers free curbside pick-up of cardboard. Simply place flattened cardboard in a 3×3 or smaller pile next to your toter on trash collection day. 

Christmas Tree Safety & Disposal

The best way to dispose of your tree is by taking it to a recycling center or having it hauled away by a community pick-up service. The City of Rocklin offers convenient drop-off locations every year at Johnson-Springview Park and Twin Oaks Park. This year the available dates are December 26, 2019 through January 6,  2020
