Notice of Environmental Document for the Rocklin Road & Interstate 80 Interchange Project

On September 7, 2023, the City of Rocklin released a Public Notice of Availability (NOA) for the Rocklin Road and Interstate 80 Interchange Project Initial Study with Proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND)

What’s being planned?

The City of Rocklin has prepared an Initial Study with proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) for the Rocklin Road and Interstate 80 (I-80) Interchange Project in Placer County, California. The City of Rocklin, in cooperation with California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), proposes to modify the Rocklin Road/I-80 Interchange from the existing standard diamond-type interchange to a diverging diamond interchange configuration and create a dedicated crossing for pedestrians and bicyclists.

The City of Rocklin, as the lead agency under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) has prepared an IS/MND to analyze the potential environmental effects of the proposed project. This notice is to inform you of the public comment period.

Where do you come in?

We welcome your comments on the draft IS/MND during the 30-day public comment period from September 7, 2023 to October 9, 2023. The purpose of the public comment period is to receive comments on the environmental issues analyzed within the IS/MND and any concerns regarding the adequacy of the environmental analysis. The purpose of the public comment period is not to receive comments on the merits of the Rocklin Road and I-80 Interchange Project.
