Impact Axe

One of the owners, Kristi Torrington, stands with "Baby Bartender" James.

Impact Axe, an indoor axe throwing and craft beer lounge, is the latest in recreation in Rocklin—and it’s entirely safe (yes, even with the alcohol). The business opened just under a month ago by three couples who wanted to create a space for people to spend time together and enjoy each other’s company. They have partnered with Wounded Warrior Project and were involved with the first day of Rocklin Police’s six week K-9 training! Kristi Torrington, one of the partners, said, “We want to make you feel at home when you walk in. Our goal is to make an impact on the community while helping people have fun with new experiences.”

The business features 13 lanes, including a wheelchair-accessible lane so everyone can participate. Lanes are booked in half-hour increments with a one-hour minimum. Staff will teach throwers how to properly and safely throw an axe at a wooden target board. Once throwers get the hang of things, they can play a number of games or continue improving their skills. Impact Axe also features a wide selection of craft beers, many of them locally brewed, and food from Randy Peters Catering in case you work up an appetite. You can say hi to six-month old James, who spends much of his time playing around the bar and has been affectionately nicknamed “Bartender Baby.”

On March 8, International Women’s Day, women can throw for an hour at a discounted rate of $20. Additionally, students, teachers, military, and first responders can always receive a discounted rate with a valid ID.
