Councilmember David Bass

David Bass was elected to the City Council in 2022 to fill a vacated City Council seat. David is a dedicated member of the Rocklin community and proud to serve on the boards of the Rocklin Chamber of Commerce and Rocklin Police Activities League. He is also a member of the South Placer Rotary Club. David and his wife are grateful to be longtime Rocklin residents, raising their two children in the Rocklin Unified School District.

David is a partner at a local law firm that primarily defends the business community. He also volunteers legal counsel and has advocated for abused elders and wildfire victims. Before entering private practice, he was a deputy district attorney and deputy attorney general, prosecuting felonies and complex crimes. David is also a military veteran.

David’s goals are to serve with integrity, transparency, and cooperation with citizens and businesses. He aims to use his experience as a Rocklin Planning Commissioner to manage the city’s growth responsibly while maintaining a rich quality of life for residents. Because of his previous law enforcement experience, he also understands the importance of public safety. He seeks to improve and expand opportunities for youth in sports, education, and recreation.
