Borges Tennis Lessons offers group and private tennis lessons to children and adults in Rocklin and Folsom. Borges Tennis Lessons was established in 2017 and recently started offering lessons in Rocklin in November at Twin Oaks Park. Private lessons use a specialized lesson plan tailored to the student’s strengths and weaknesses. Group lessons can accommodate up to eight people at a time and are held in accordance to training level: beginner, intermediate, or advanced. The business stopped lessons for a couple of months in March and had fewer students, which led to more specialized training for students normally in group sessions.

“Thank you for supporting small businesses and finding ways to get kids involved during this pandemic,“ owner Kellie Borges said. Borges Tennis Lessons has implemented various safety protocol to ensure everyone’s safety during lessons. Temperatures are taken before each lesson, and hand sanitizer is available at all times. The instructor wears a face mask the entire time, wipes down gates, and cleans equipment and ball hoppers between each student. Face masks are used during all group lessons (when students are unable to social distance). Additionally, individual spaces are marked out on the court for students to socialize with each other while maintaining a safe distance apart.

Current business hours: One-hour lessons from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays; 11 a.m. on Saturdays
Future expectations: Borges Tennis Lessons will continue to prepare students for high school-level tennis and allow school-age children an outlet of outdoor activity during the fall.
