City Budget Passed

City Council adopted a balanced Fiscal Year 2020-2021 budget. The budget was prepared during local, state, and national efforts to combat COVID-19 with fiscal impacts anticipated to continue through this fiscal year and beyond. Read more about the budget here.

Housing Agreement with City of Roseville

The cities of Rocklin and Roseville are partnering to take advantage of available federal funding to assist housing programs in the region.

The California Department of Housing and Community Development has approximately $195 million available to cities and counties under the SB 2 Permanent Local Housing Allocation Program.

The City of Rocklin is eligible for approximately $134,638 in funds in the first program year, but Rocklin does not currently have the required programs to apply.  

Program guidelines, however, allow agencies to partner with other entities to acquire and administer funds.

The City of Roseville is eligible for approximately $313,366 in year one funds. Roseville also has a Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing program and staffing in place that qualifies it to apply for the allocated funds.

The City of Roseville has agreed to submit a joint application on behalf of Rocklin and Roseville to ensure the available funds will be allocated to both cities and utilized in the south Placer area.

Granite Lake Estates Extension

City Council granted an extension to the Granite Lake Estates development agreement, extending the term by one year to July 11, 2021. The extension of the residential housing project in southwest Rocklin was ministerial in nature, as the previously approved project was not requesting other changes.

There was however, multiple public comments heard on the matter. Comments focused on concerns expressed about potential traffic that could coincide with future bridge construction and issues related to the current use of the undeveloped private property by people not granted permission to access the land.
