White and yellow words on a blue firework background: Celebrate 4th of July Safely in Rocklin

As Independence Day approaches, the City of Rocklin encourages all residents to celebrate responsibly and in accordance with local and state fireworks laws.

Only “Safe and Sane” fireworks are legal in California and may be sold within Rocklin city limits by approved non-profit organizations. The legal discharge period is limited to June 28 at 12:00 p.m. through July 4 at 11:59 p.m.

Rocklin has adopted a Zero Tolerance Policy for the possession or use of illegal fireworks. This includes individuals who allow others to discharge illegal fireworks or who use legal fireworks in an unlawful manner. To report illegal fireworks activity, please call Rocklin Police’s non-emergency line at (916) 625-5400, option 1.

Important Fireworks Reminders

  • Never discharge fireworks within 150 feet of a sales booth or in any City park or open space.
  • Public fireworks displays require a permit from the Rocklin Fire Department.
  • Safe and Sane fireworks can only be used during the designated dates.
  • Fireworks sales are allowed from June 28 at 12:00 p.m. through July 4 at 10:00 p.m., between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. daily.
  • Violators may face fines up to $50,000 and/or jail time.
