Economic Development coordinates, monitors, and implements all activities associated with economic development as identified in the City’s adopted Economic Development Strategy which accomplishes the following:

  • Creates an economic vision to identify and acknowledge our strengths and weaknesses
  • Outlines sustainable strategies for growing our economy
  • Identifies target industries and strategic investment locations to ensure a positive return on investment to our community
  • Builds partnerships for sustainable economic development

This office works to keep Rocklin livable, by acting on two overarching approaches to economic vitalization – strengthening what we already have and pursuing what we need to achieve a strong, diversified local economy.

The Placer Business Resource Center (PBRC) is a source for information and assistance for businesses and entrepreneurs in Placer County. 

For new businesses, staff at the PBRC can help identify funding options and walk you through the steps that will turn your idea into a successful venture. For existing businesses, they can assist with strategizing expansion plans and accessing capital to position you for sustainable growth. 

PBRC offers workshops and classes, one-on-one advising, permit assistance, and hiring assistance.
