Captain Lon Milka currently serves as the Support Services Division Commander and was promoted to Captain in February of 2013. He began his law enforcement career in 1988 with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department where he attended the academy and was a patrol deputy. In 1994, Lon joined the Rocklin Police Department and promoted through the ranks. He has been assigned to patrol and investigations as an officer, to patrol and investigations as a sergeant, to patrol and to Professional Standards Unit as a lieutenant, and now to the Operations Division as its captain. Captain Milka holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and is a graduate of the Sherman Block Leadership Institute (S.L.I.) as well as the F.B.I. National Academy (Class 241).
Captain Milka has been involved in professional and community organizations serving in various capacities on boards and committees including the Placer Co. Domestic Violence Taskforce Committee, Multi-Disciplinary Interview Committee (M.D.I.C.), Community and Agency Multidisciplinary Elder Team and Placer Youth Football. Captain Milka and his wife of 30 years have a daughter and son, and his hobbies include wood-working, reading mystery novels, grilling and barbequing.
