Community Development Block Grant
Draft FY 2022/2023 Annual Action Plan and Upcoming Hearings
The City of Rocklin receives funding from the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development in the form of Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) each year. The funds are used, in part, to assist residents with securing decent housing, benefit the elderly, and expand economic opportunities for those of low and moderate incomes.
In April of 2021, the Rocklin City Council resolved to award a total of approximately $42,000 in CDBG funds for Fiscal Year (FY) 2021/2022 to three local non-profit organizations serving the people of Rocklin. The three organizations who will receive funding include: The Salvation Army, Seniors First, and Stand Up Placer.
The City of Rocklin is currently planning for the use of fiscal year FY 2022-2023 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program funds. The City has yet to be notified of its FY 2022/2023 award. The City expects to receive an amount roughly equal to the FY 2021/2022 award of $284,000. The City of Rocklin is required to prepare an Annual Action Plan which provides information on the needs of low-and moderate-income residents and eligible target areas of the City during the period between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023. The Plan also describes the activities that the City will undertake to meet those needs with the limited funding. Should the actual award amount differ from the current estimate, the City will make proportional adjustments to all areas of allocation.
