Whitney Ranch Highway 65 Interchange

What:             A grand opening ceremony for the new Whitney Ranch Highway 65 Interchange will be held Friday, Sept. 9 at 9 a.m.

Where:            The ceremony will be held on the overpass of the Highway 65 Interchange near Whitney Ranch Pkwy and University Ave and will only be accessible by surface streets. The interchange itself is located off of Highway 65 between the Sunset Blvd. and Stanford Ranch Rd. exits.

When:             Friday, September 9 at 9 a.m. The interchange will open to public traffic for the afternoon commute on September 9.

Who:               The $11.3 million project is funded by the City of Rocklin, with funds from partners including the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency ($900,000), and the Placer County Water Agency ($1.7 million). The ceremony will begin with a procession by the Whitney High Marching Band, followed by speakers, and a classic car parade previewing the Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce’s Hot Chile and Cool Cars event, scheduled for Sept. 17.

Why:               The interchange will help provide access to nearly 200 acres of land for development which has the potential to create approximately 2,000 jobs in the area. Similar to the development success seen near the Sierra College Boulevard interchange, this infrastructure will help Rocklin continue to capture the purchasing power of the region through access and ease of mobility.
