High Density Mineral Bond Pavement Project
As part of the City’s ongoing street maintenance program, sections of the Sunset West neighborhood will be closed. The neighborhoods between Lonetree Blvd., Blue Oaks Blvd., and Park Dr. will have a treatment, consisting of a high density mineral bond, to extend the life of the pavement and create a smoother driving surface.
Due to the curing time of this treatment, roads cannot be driven on, and must be closed for a maximum of 24 hours. During this time you may only be able to access your home from the sidewalk and will have to park on a nearby street. Emergency services will not be affected by the street closures.
- Bids will be opened on June 30th and the contract will be awarded at the July 12th City Council meeting.
- Not all streets will be closed at once, and none are scheduled to be closed for more than 24 hours.
- Street Closures are tentatively scheduled for late July through early August.
- Work has been coordinated with the School District to minimize traffic impacts around schools.
The City has coordinated with Recology to have trash collected in the mornings before work begins on closed streets. Please put your trash bins out the night before to ensure that it is collected.
The .The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions but both the City and the Contractor are committed to following the schedule as closely as possible. A flyer will be sent to each house both 7 days and 72 hours prior to street closures and any changes to the schedule will also be sent out. Barricades will be placed 24 hours before construction to restrict parking on streets that will be closed.
The City is committed to open communication regarding street closures and impacts. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Public Services at (916) 625-5500.
