This project reconstructed and widened the over-crossing and constructed new ramps. Teichert Construction served as the contractor, with a construction cost of approximately $22,500,000.

To commemorate the completion of construction of the Sierra College Blvd./I-80 Interchange Reconstruction Project, the City of Rocklin held the Grand Opening Celebration Event on April 16, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. 2009 Project of the Year - APWA Award

The APWA Sacramento Chapter Awards Program recognizes projects that demonstrate excellence in design, construction, community relations, and project management team performance.
Councilmember Kathy Lund, a long-time proponent of the Sierra College Interchange, said, "We are pleased to receive this award from the APWA. This project provides an important transportation link in the region, and benefits residents of Rocklin, Loomis, Lincoln, and Placer County. It also enhances access to Sierra College.
