An Award-Winning Publication honored by the Public Relations Society of America in Northern California |
Message from Carlos Rocklin did it again. This time, Money Magazine named Rocklin as one of the best 100 places to live in the Nation. Quality of life factors were the primary criteria behind the recognition. Not too long ago, Family Circle Magazine named Rocklin one of the ten best places to raise a family. Neither recognition was solicited by the City. It seems that the evaluators for these magazines just know a good place when they see one. But not only is Rocklin a great place to live, if you ask most of our businesses, they will tell you that it is a great place to do business also. They City Council and staff are keenly aware of the complexities encountered by businesses everywhere and we try to make our governmental processes as business friendly as we can. I am proud to lead a workforce that is committed to provide excellent customer care and to be responsive to the needs of our businesses. In this tough economy, government needs to be nimble and responsive. We are constantly looking at our processes to make sure that they are responsive to the times. For example, the City Council recently relaxed the business sign ordinance and directed staff to develop a business facade grant and loan program for our downtown area. We welcome your suggestions and comments. Carlos A. Urrutia, City Manager, City of Rocklin |
